Garbage & Refuse Collection
Garbage and recycling services within the City of Roberts are provided by PSI Waste Systems under contract with the City.

Garbage is collected every Thursday by PSI Waste Systems.
Please place carts at the curb by 7:00 AM on collection day.
????️ How Service Works
- PSI Waste Systems provides weekly curbside garbage collection
- Each residential property is assigned a refuse cart
- All waste must be placed inside the cart with the lid fully closed
- Carts must be placed curbside in a safe and accessible location
⚠️ Cart Placement Requirements
To ensure service by PSI Waste Systems:
- Place carts at least 3 feet from vehicles, mailboxes, and obstacles
- Do not block sidewalks, driveways, or roadways
- Ensure lid is fully closed (overflow may not be collected)
- Place cart out by 7:00 AM on collection day

Additional carts include a monthly service fee.

- Construction or demolition debris
- Hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, oil, batteries)

- Dirt, rock, sod, or loose yard waste piles

For large items such as furniture or appliances, residents must contact City Hall or PSI Waste Systems (if applicable) for disposal or special pickup options.

What items are NOT allowed in my garbage cart?
The following items are prohibited from curbside garbage service:
- Batteries (car or truck)
- Tires
- Antifreeze or fluids containing antifreeze
- Petroleum products (oil, gas, fuels)
- Pesticides or herbicides
- Freon-containing items
These materials require special disposal and must not be placed in the cart.
Do I need to prepare my trash a certain way?
Yes. All waste must:
- Be placed inside the cart
- Be bagged and contained
- Be broken down to fit fully inside
- Allow the lid to close completely
Loose trash or overflow may not be collected by PSI Waste Systems.
How should I dispose of paint?
Paint cans must be completely empty or fully dried out before disposal in your garbage cart.

The City of Roberts’ biannual community cleanup is held twice a year to help keep our neighborhoods clean and safe. Residents can bring household debris, yard waste, and other eligible items to designated drop-off location on the cleanup days.
Does the City pick up large items like furniture or appliances?
No. The City of Roberts does not provide bulky item pickup service. Residents are responsible for arranging proper disposal.
Can I burn leaves or yard debris?
Yes. You do not need a permit. Please call Jefferson County dispatch to report a controlled burn 208-745-9210 ext 7.
When is Community Cleanup?
The City of Roberts’ biannual community cleanup is held twice a year to help keep our neighborhoods clean and safe. Residents can bring household debris, yard waste, and other eligible items to the designated drop-off location on the cleanup days.
Dates for the cleanup are announced only in the City’s utility bills, so be sure to check your bill for the next scheduled event.

Private property owners must arrange disposal. Dumping at 700 N is prohibited.
